Work From Home

Posted on April 28, 2020 at 4:25 PM

Dear Parents,

Term 3 begins after the Easter break, Monday 20th April. Unfortunately, due to restrictions, schools remain closed. The teachers and staff of Glenmore NS are working hard to prepare work for your children to do at home. We understand that these are difficult times and that each and every household has different priorities at this time. However we strongly advise parents to encourage children to engage with the work sent home. A good routine will help your child. A little school work and lots of fresh air and exercise during the day will help keep your child motivated to learn. Please know that the teachers and staff are available to answer any questions or concerns you may have in relation to the school work assigned. They can be contacted by emailing them directly, or emailing the school at [email protected], where your message will be passed on without delay.

The most important thing at this time is our health and well-being.

Keep safe.

Thanks

Please find below a list of resources and websites that may be useful to you and your children over the next couple of weeks. Any websites or work mentioned is purely a suggestion- there is no obligation for your child to do any of this work. The most important thing at this time is to look out for and care for each other. Please listen to and obey all advice given by the Health Officials. Things will return to normal at some stage- the most important thing is that everyone we care about is there with us when we get back to normal life.

https://www.twinkl.ie/resources/roi-resources/school-closure-republic-of-ireland

This link will take you to twinkl.ie who have produced 3 weeks’ worth of school closures packs for each class level

• ixl.com

An excellent site that has online maths and English activities for all class levels

https://login.mathletics.com

• readworks.org

Educational publishers have made available their online resources to all during the school closures. These include Folens and CJ Fallon. You only need to register. Directions available on the homepage of the following websites.

Again, these are just suggestions that you or your children might like to use. Most importantly is that we all stay safe and keep our loved ones safe.

Stay safe and stay well,

Laura
